Mr. finds a Mrs. at Heart and Home

Hi everyone! Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday, and that the new year brings you happiness, health and some much needed prosperity!

This is something I first posted in September. I wanted to show you what has changed since Christmas, when my first love finally found a love of his own....

Years ago, on my third birthday, a new and lovely friend arrived to live with me.

I fell in love with him instantly.

Not much bigger than my father's hand, he was quietly mysterious, and looked supremely wise and exotic.

I named him Mr. Chin, and put him on the windowsill in my bedroom where he could watch over me.

The breezes from my open window often knocked him over, and gave him a broken nose.

But my love for Mr. Chin never wavered.

I loved his soulful gaze, his tiny hands and feet, and his exotic clothing.

I loved the way he never demanded anything from me but the occasional dusting, yet he gave me constant and undivided attention.

Today, 47 years later, Mr. Chin is still with me. He keeps me company, watching over me and my family from his spot on a little red pillow on the living room bookshelf.

Although his clothing has faded and his cherry lips are cracked, I love him as deeply today as I did the first time I saw him, all those years ago. Sometimes a first love is forever.

But, not all first loves are requited.

On Christmas day, my Mr. Chin found someone else, who appears to adore him, too....

Lovely Mrs. Lily Chin has found a home here with us.

Discovered in a downtown antiques shop, Lily was waiting to be rescued from the display window, and she gladly moved into our home. She was my Christmas gift this year, from my very sensitive and kind daughter, who understood that Lily would fit right in.

When she first gazed tenderly upon him, Lily knew Mr. Chin was the man for her. Mr. Chin was taken by her beauty and soft spoken ways, and her elegance and gentleness.

The happy couple now reside side by side on the very same bookshelf that has been home to a very solitary Mr. Chin all these years. They sit quietly, holding hands and contemplating their futures together.

I think they look very happy together!

Thank you, Beverly for Pink Saturday!
Until next time
XO
Heidi

This is SUCH an AWWWWWWWWWWW story!

First of all, I've never seen ANYTHING like Mr. Chin, so for your daughter to find his soul mate in an antique shop - - - well, that is just astounding!
