Harvest Tablescape at Heart and Home

On a crisp fall evening it's nice to have dinner for two in front of the fireplace in the living room.

I'll use different textures to conjure up images of the fall fields and woods surrounding our home.

Silk, leaf-patterned place mats in brown and gold cushion our plates, and an assortment of broken-glass mosaic votives line the antique trunk we use for a coffee table's edge. (See more here , here, and here)

I'm using flatware by Towle that I've had for 30 years. Nothing fancy, but I love the subtle hint of gold on their edges that add a little extra something to the tablescape. I've never grown tired of this classic pattern!

The botanical print dessert plates will stand in for salad plates tonight.  These little plates were purchased at Ross: $3.99 for four! They compliment all of my other dishware with their varied colors.

Bunches of faux grapes encircle brown silk napkins, and add to the "harvest" theme.

The candlelight adds a lovely, soft, warm glow to the table.

It's still bright outside. But soon the sun will set behind the mountain, and it will be time to pour the wine.

Then I'll  relax and enjoy a casual meal in the living room by the fire. That's the way I like to serve dinner for two on a crisp fall evening, here on the redwood coast!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Your visits mean so much to me, and I hope that you'll be back soon. Leave me a comment and say hello. A big thank you to Susan, at Between Naps on the Porch, for another fun Tablescape Thursday!

Until next time
XO
Heidi

My husband would give his right arm to be able to "watch the sun set behind the mountains".
Your setting looks so warm & inviting & all the grape motifs & colors make me think of our trip to Napa Valley. What a great vacation that was!

Oh & I agree...your flatware is classic & timeless. Very pretty TT!

So serene. I am really thinking about setting up in front of the fire now...possibly even the woodstove downstairs.

Please stop by...I featured a couple of your items today.

I really miss having a fireplace. We gave that up when we bought this house. Those candles would make a wonderful glow. Everything looks warm and cozy. Very nice.

Heidi, thank you so much for the sweetest comments about being '70' years old. I appreciate it so much. You definitely put a smile on my face and made my day. These last two days have been hectic so I am just now getting a chance to thank everyone for their comments.

Love your coffee table tablescape. It is cosy and so festive. A great idea for two. Romance anyone? You bet! Love the different textures and the flatware is very pretty with the gold.
I know your hubby was a happy man!!!

Hugs, Jeanne

Love your little setting - when can I come over ?? LOL ! I love the redwoods...my mother grew up around Eureka and I was raised in the bay area - so we got to go to Big Basin and see and camp around the redwoods as a child....I do miss them , thanks for sharing !
