Hey ladies! How's it going?
Here it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. Feels like Summer has finally arrived, after a long wet Winter and Spring!
Today I went and got the little side deck table decked out for an alfresco lunch with a friend.
Maybe you'd like to join us, I'd be happy to squeeze you in!
It's so nice out here with the ocean breezes blowing through our valley, and the wind chime chiming!
All my work earlier this Spring has resulted in a bounty of pots spilling over with colorful blossomsFor a festive table, I gathered up some of my favorite things to serve as decorative accents.
The bird and topiary seemed like natural partners.
Although I don't think much is needed to improve on the ambiance!
Blue and white, (my favorite combo) accented with touches of green, reflect the natural surroundings.
The vintage tablecloth is printed with a wisteria pattern. The cushion covers are an Indian print fabric that I love for it's exuberance.
There's nothing shy about that pattern!
Which suits me just fine.
I don't like wishy-washy prints, but rather prefer big bold designs that make a statement.
I picked up these little five-sided bowls for $1 apiece at the drug store!
They have polka-dots on them, just like the bird feeder that I made a few weeks ago.
I'm always on the lookout for fun additions to my dishware, even while I'm waiting in line at the RX counter!
Blue and green stoneware has mix and match patterns, from Pottery Barn 11 years ago.
It's layered on top of my trusty white, fruit-embossed plates.
The blue-handled flatware was part of a picnic basket outfitted with all the necessities.
I only have two place settings, but that's all I need today.
Two is just right for an intimate lunch on the deck, to celebrate the end of the school year with a fellow mom from my daughter's class.
One more week, and school is officially over for the year.
Then the activities of summer begin for real.
I'm not sure I'm ready for the art lessons, tennis lessons, sleepovers, girlfriend get-togethers, lunch-a-movie-and-shopping trips that my daughters are always planning when they're not focused on school work.
Although I am ready for some quality R&R with my girls.
What will you be doing during the next few months of Summer?
Besides BLOGGING, of course!
Don't tell me if it involves a trip to Tahiti or some other exotic locale.
I don't want you to see me get jealous, it's not one of my finer qualities.
Although, staying here at home for a few months, with the beach just around the corner and all these trees to stare at all day isn't too terrible, is it?
Actually, I feel rather lucky.
And besides, I get to visit with all of you whenever I want.
Remember to leave a comment and let me know you were here!
And, there's always room at the table for more of you, so feel free to follow along!
I'm linking up with Susan at Between Naps on the Porch, for Tablescape Thursday, and Show and Tell Friday at My Romantic Home. Thanks Cindy!
Until next time
XO
Heidi

Hi Heidi,
Now girl...how did you know I was going to Tahiti?! Don't I wish! :-)
I love your bistro tablescape. I adore blue and white and this is fabulous! I'm so with you on liking strong colors...I just crave them!
You have a very green thumb...my friend...WOW, your flowers are gorgeous! A little paradise right on your deck!
Enjoy your summer! :-)
Susan
Heidi, I just love your outdoor setting. How beautiful. It looks like you are sitting up in the trees. Your flowers are all so vibrant and pretty. School is already out here of course I don't have any kids at home any more. Not going anywhere this summer so far. We are going to Vegas for four days at Labor Day. I guess until then I will be here.
I love your blue and white and I adore bright colors too. I love your new bowls and the Pottery Barn Plates. Your flowers in pots are doing so well. Our schools have been since the 20th of May. I like being free from homework and waking up early, but I agree with you on lessons, etc. Funny, today my husband drove the kids around to their stuff (a rareity) and he said, "Do they Have to swim and take piano lessons?"
Hello,
Love your outdoor setting. I think it is the lure of the beautiful gardens and the lovely weather that seem to bring most of us outdoors. I did too! I love your blues!
Great deals too!!!
Kathy
Your backyard setting is lovely. No exotic here girl....just HOT, HOT, and more HOT!
Your flowers are gorgeous! What a great spot for a cozy dinner!
Hi Heidi... a very inviting table. I love the vintage table cloth!... but shuddered seeing the stamens still on the lilies. Remove those by grasping in a tissue as soon as the lily opens. The pollen is a bugger to remove from table linens.
I really like the pic of the potted flowers/plants, too. It would be pretty on a card.
No exotic locales for me ;-( unless, of course, you think Portland and Sisters, Oregon and then down to the bay area qualify. ;-D
A very pretty post... Karen
Blue and green together is one of my favorite color combos so this pleases me immensely - the pops of green against the blue and white are great!!
Heidi,
Your table is so pretty and colorful. Wow, your flowers are going crazy--must be all that rain we had! Everything looks gorgeous!
I can't think of any more beautiful locale than just where you are. Your table looks beautiful and so inviting...go ahead and set one more space I'll be right over!
such a cute setting~
all looking very beautiful...I do not envisage a trip to Tahiti for sure, though we are planning a trip to the good old USA and I cannot wait for that :-)))
Sarah
p.s. meant to say love the blue bottle, just what I am after and on my most wanted list
Hi Heide. When looking at your beautiful pictures and reading your story I believe you live in a little piece of Paradise.
Have a nice week
Your blue and whites are beautiful! The trees behind and your view from your table is wonderful!
Robin
Hi Heidi,
OMG, it's just gorgeous! I love that vintage tablecloth, I am always on the look out for them. The polka dot bowls and all your gorgeous plants, just perfect!! You live in such a beautiful place too!
My plans, hmmm, well a road trip with hubby and some weddings and family get togethers. Nothing exotic, but summer in Wisconsin is the best time here.
Hugs, Cindy
Hi Heidi, what a wonderful set up! I love bold graphic pattern too...the vintage TC and the fabric on the seats are fantastic! Great job!
...no exotic locale for me...dang it!
Love Love Love the blue and white with the splash of green. What a lovely lunch setting.
Blue & white are so crisp and clean to me and always makes me feel cooler. The green touches are wonderful! It's so ding dang hot here that one cannot enjoy being outside...already. :-( High 90's and over 100 for the weekend forecast and high humidity...the makes me cranky weather.
Your flowers are beautiful! I think your deck looks delightful and thanks for sharing these photos.
xoxo

Gorgeous! I'd love to have such a nice lunch for two on such an inviting table....and amongst all your pretty container flowers! The deck has a lovely, cozy secluded feel..just perfect for al fresco dining!
Blue and white is a fave combo of mine, and I love it with the green accents! Delightful!
What a beautiful setting! Love the blue and white and all the flowers! Someday we'll have to get together for lunch since we live so close to each other!!!
I have no summer plans! Just working! I am going back to the wine country in a couple weeks though!
Love the blue and white seat pads and tablecloth. I also love the setting out of doors! Not sure of our plans for the summer yet! We just got back from a vacation in the Charleston Sc area.
