Springtime at Heart and Home

Heart and Home is Celebrating Spring, on Pink Saturday.  I snuck in some purple, too, but I didn't think you'd mind! If you're here for the first time,  I'm so glad you decided to drop by for a visit! Stay awhile and take some time to look around.  If you're a regular reader or one of my lovely followers, welcome back and thank you!  I do hope life is treating you well, and that you are enjoying this wonderful first weekend of Spring. When you're done here please go say hi to Beverly, at How Sweet the Sound, and check out some of the other Pink Saturday participants. There is always a lot of pretty pink to admire!

Landscape Near Menton
Renoir 1883

If I squint my eyes this looks just like the view out my kitchen window.  As I write this the weather is perfect!  There is just the right amount of warmth in the air, with a light ocean breeze. The trees are rustling, and showing off their spring blossoms. The daffodils, and periwinkle, and snowdrops are blooming. Everywhere you look are birds chirping, and squirrels scampering about. It's my favorite time of year, and I'm so happy it's finally arrived! It was a long, wet winter!

Here are some Spring thoughts,  just for you on this fine Spring day:

A Prayer in Spring
Robert Frost (1915)

Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers to-day;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year.

Oh, give us pleasure in the orchard white,
Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night;
And make us happy in the happy bees,
The swarm dilating round the perfect trees.

And make us happy in the darting bird
That suddenly above the bees is heard,
The meteor that thrusts in with needle bill,
And off a blossom in mid air stands still.

For this is love and nothing else is love,
The which it is reserved for God above
To sanctify to what far ends He will,
But which it only needs that we fulfil.

Nobody says it quite like Robert Frost!

Now, I'm off to the garden center. Soon, I'll be out back planting flowers to replace all the ones that didn't make it through the storms. That's one of my favorite Spring activities, one I look forward to all fall and winter. What's your favorite way to celebrate Spring? Leave me a comment, and tell me all about it! Thanks so much for visiting, it makes my day. I hope you'll come back soon! If you want to see more Spring Pink you can look here, here, and here.  Have fun!

Until next time,
XO
Heidi

Hi Heidi,
Just taking a few minutes away from my packing to check out a few of my favorite blogs. I'm so glad you have beautiful weather today and can play with your plants & flowers! It is cold & rainy here, strong north wind and a possibility of snow flurries this evening. Something is mixed up 'cause this is the first day of spring, right? :-)

Enjoy your weekend!

xoxo

This is a beautiful post, Heidi. How I envy that ocean breeze!! I have shoots of daffodil and tulips coming up, but no blooms yet. I'm patient. And we have snow and rain today after spring weather all week. Oh, well...that is Chicago for you!!

Thanks for a touch of spring!! :-)

It is so inspiring to see all the beautiful flowers but I will have to wait another month and a half to run to the garden center for flowers to plant. Here in Pa., we can still get frost up until MAy!!

Oh Heidi Sweetie...
Happy Pink Saturday and What a beautiful post. I love that little bit of purple that we didn't see at all.

That painting is absolutely gorgeous, and if I squint my eyes, I was seeing the same beautiful view as you. Oh thank you for that view. I could smell the ocean air, and the breeze felt so wonderful on my skin. Thank you sweetie.

Happy Pink Saturday and have a beautiful blessed day. Country hugs sweetie...Sherry
