Heart and Home: Favorite City, part 2

Welcome back! Today I'm joining Outdoor Wednesday, by sharing part two of an outdoor, summer weekend in my favorite city. (See part one here.)

One of these beautiful roses graced our table at breakfast each morning of our long San Francisco weekend:

Our days were spent walking and boating on the bay. Later, we strolled in the warm summer evening to the baseball park, in support of our team.

The Giants and AT&T Park are a thrilling combination, especially after dark.

And even more so, when the home team wins, which they did!

The next day, after visiting the Museum of Modern Art

and climbing the stairs to view the exhibits on all the floors

we stopped for lattes and a pick-me-up "Avedon Parfait", inspired by Richard Avedon's "Beekeeper" portrait.

We walked through the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts

and got splashed with water from the fountain as we strolled in, around,

and behind the fountain, while enjoying the gardens and music of the outdoor festival.

Later in the afternoon, we revisited a place special to us, as we drove up the hills to Coit tower.

We took in the views from up high in our beloved, windy city by the bay,

and admired the once controversial murals painted inside the lobby of the tower depicting laborers from the 30's and 40's.

I'm grateful for the dedication of those who preserved these historic murals found around the city.

Finally, as day turned into night, we took refuge from the cool evening wind in the comfort and warmth of our little car, and began the trip back down the coast. We leave our hearts in San Francisco each time we visit, but when we return to our house in the redwoods we remember there's no place like home!!

Visit Outdoor Wednesdays, at A Southern Daydreamer, for more . Thanks for hosting, Susan!
Everyone, thanks for visiting! I hope you'll come back again, soon.

Until next time
XO
Heidi

You have a lovely city practically in your backyard and someday I WILL visit San Francisco!! The museum looks awesome!! I am not a fan of modern art or decor, but I am always impressed when I visit a modern art museum.

Stunning pictures. Will be back for Part II, Heidi!

Happy Outdoor Wednesday!!
