Heart and Home: Pink Flamingos

Before I get started..... I want to tell you about a site I found last week while working through that long list at Beverly's How Sweet the Sound. Carol has a site called Serendipity  I know you will enjoy -  it's filled with lovely photos of her favorite spots in and around Maine, and also delicious sounding recipes and pretty nature pics. She sounds like a real sweetie....stop by sometime, and tell her I sent you!

Now on to important business - my offering for today's Pink:

As I looked around recently, I was surprised to discover how many things in my home contain the color pink!

I found pink on these kitchen towels, inspired by the vivid prints of the 30's and 40's:
(in my orange kitchen, of all places! (click here to go there!)

There's a pink stripe running around the Italian painted cookie jar, which I  never realized because I guess I'm more interested in what's inside the cookie jar!

Many of the books in my collection of at least a gazillion have pink on their dust jackets:

A tiny, re-purposed side table brought in from the garden is topped with the palest pink marble:

I even found pink featured pretty prominently in the design of this rug which moves from room to room, depending on my mood and the season.  (i thought it was more red, until I really looked at it - Who knew??)

Mr. H&H is surrounded on all sides by very feminine girly-girls, who love all things pink.
These really put a spring in your step:

And listening to music is so much nicer when you do it with a little, pink, blingy thing!

Even my "I don't really need these I only use them to take the strain off my eyes" readers from the drug store are, that's right, a snazzy pink:

and if you look closely, outside - when the pink azaleas and the rhododendrons are no longer blooming- you'll still find pink in the garden near the gazebo:

These two fake-feathered guests came for a very happy luau birthday party at the beach, and stayed on as reminders of that special day. They brighten up that dark spot under the Japanese maples and redwood trees.

It makes the garden a lot less serious when you've got pink plastic flamingos wandering about, if you ask me!
Thanks for stopping by, hope you'll come back soon. In the meantime - have a pinky day!!

Go see more Pink at Beverly's How Sweet the Sound!!
Until next time
XO
Heidi

You just never know where you will find the pink. I am always amazed at the pink I have because I am not a pink person, or at least I didn't realize that I was, Happy Pink Saturday, Char

When the blossoms of summer begin to fade we can always count on Pink Saturday to bring a smile to our faces and to remind us that somewhere there are pastels and pretty things.

Thanks so much for sharing this week. I wish you sunshine and lollipops today and always.
