Heart and Home and A Tuscany Inspired Tablescape

Welcome back my friends!
Thanks for joining me today.

After the craziness of yesterday I was having a "relaxing day" today.
Which means I only ran around for a few hours doing errands, instead of all afternoon.
When I got back, I had some time for myself,
which I used to get creative.
It's been so nice outside that I got an urge to put together a tablescape for the side deck.
I thought it would be fun to do something Tuscany-inspired.

I think this fits the bill perfectly.
I already had everything I needed to set the mood:
vibrant linens similar to the lovely prints at April Cornell,
woven place mats and chargers, and pretty little fruit-patterned plates.

The green goblets are my favorite.
I like them so much, I think
everything tastes better out of them.

It was a breeze putting this together.
There was a slight problem , however.
Keeping the candles lit in the breeze proved impossible.

You'll just have to imagine how this looks by candlelight.
When the wind calms down, I'll light the candles
and turn the dimmer on the overhead star lanterns way down.
(You can see those great big stars here.)

We might have to bundle up to eat outside tonight!

It's a good thing only the tablescape is Tuscany-inspired.

I've got a big pot of tasty, bone-warming Hungarian goulash
simmering on the stove for dinner tonight!
There's plenty, stick around!

You'll want to come back for information about the great giveaway I've got planned.
That's coming soon, don't miss it!
In the meantime, enjoy the long summer evenings!
And, if you like what you saw here, follow along!
Until next time,
XO
Heidi

Heidi, that is such a nice place to be able to enjoy eating outdoors. I can't believe you said you might have to bundle up. It is still 85 degrees out after dark here. I would love to feel a cool breeze outside instead of this heavy muggy air we have. I love the color of your wicker chairs and you set a lovely table. I can be there in about eight hours or so after I get my plane ticket.

It sounds wonderful to think of having soup and blundling up! We're sweltering! But this is a lovely table whatever the weather. Cute birds and I love your pretty dishes.

Bundling up isn't going to happen around here any time soon...your blue and green cozy table is beautiful.

Your table setting is so pretty. No bundling up here!! I think it is about 85 here right now and it is after 9 PM. The goulash sounds good, but to warm for it here right now.

That table setting is gorgeous, the goblets are beautiful, but I have to say... I am in love with the bird!!! He is adorable in that planter! The goulash sounds wonderful. You should post that recipe. I haven't found a good one like we had in Germany. I am always on the hunt. You don't have to bundle up here! It was 90 this morning at 9:00 am! It is 82 right now and 10:40 at night. It is muggy, but so wonderful to sit out and hear all the night sounds! I hope you enjoyed your wonderful dinner! Glad you had some time to relax!

What a lovely setting! I especially love the photo of the whole table with the green chairs. I can see why you love those green goblets -- and I'll bet they go with almost everything! I'm with all the others who can't imagine needing to bundle up this time of year!

What a great spot for a dinner table! Your colors are lovely and I agree. Everything tastes better in a pretty glass!

Swoony goblets! I try more and more to eat my lunch-meat sandwiches on a REAL plate. No paper plates, no napkins, no used kid plates. It makes such a difference. I swear, the turkey tastes better! :)

Everything looks absolutely gorgeous, Heidi! You've really captured the feeling of the region that inspired you! I didn't think I was a fan of green stemware, but you changed my mind with this post -- yours looks wonderful. I suppose I have no choice but to go shopping this weekend! ;)

Bill
