A Walk at the Harbor and Two Winners at Heart and Home

Hi there everyone. Welcome back to Heart and Home. Thanks so much for stopping by. I truly appreciate you taking the time to visit, and I love reading your comments!

**Alert: technical stuff ahead! If you are a follower and have Heart and Home on your Blogger blog list gadget would you mind doing me a favor? There's been a bit of a problem, and the list isn't updating when I post. If you would  please delete and then re-submit Heart and Home to your list, I think that might fix the trouble! I'd hate for you to miss any posts. If you haven't been here in awhile, you can scroll down to read the last four.**

But enough of that - it's boring. Let's get on to more interesting things:

It was a glorious day today! My daughter and I decided it was the perfect day for an impromptu picnic.

We headed over to the harbor and found a bench in the warm sunshine, overlooking the water.

A gentle breeze kept us comfortable as we sat and ate our bread, cheese and artichoke spread.
We saved the grapes for dessert, and ate them after they had warmed from the sun..
After lunch, we took the stairs down to the harbor and walked among the boats.

Grasses and wild flowers grow in wild abundance along the edge of the water.

A brief walk along the water's edge left us feeling calm and refreshed.  It was so quiet and peaceful here, the only sounds the lapping water, seagulls calling, and the softly rustling leaves of the eucalyptus trees.

We'll return in a short while to hop on the water taxi for a trip across the harbor. It's a free ride, and there is never a wait. It's a fun way to see the boats from a different perspective, and a great way to enjoy another perfect, lazy afternoon.

Thanks for tagging along today!

As you know, today is the final day of the Heart and Home second, extra special, birthday giveaway. I'd like to thank everyone who entered the drawing, and an especially big thanks and a blog hug to all  Heart and Home's followers. I appreciate the support, and your loyalty!   And now, I'd like to announce the winners of the Traditional Home subscription giveaway. (Winning entries chosen by my daughters by the low-tech,  time-honored method of pulling numbers out of a hat). And the winners are are (drum roll, please...)
Pat, from Gypsy Heart
and Lorna, from Lace and Ivy Cottage

congratulations!!

Ladies, please email me your addresses and I will get those subscriptions going right away.
I love this magazine, and know you will, too!

And finally here they are, what you've all been waiting for, last but not least, pictures of me for the Notesongs Bathroom Beauty Snapping Divas party:

in the guest bath:

and in one of the family room (no, not a bathroom mirror, but a mirror nonetheless!):

Taking a picture of yourself is not as easy as it looks! Still, this is a fun party, and a great way to finally put faces on all those names we've known for so long! You'll want to go check it out when you're done here! (Next time, I'm using photoshop to "improve" the subject a bit....) Thanks, Shelia!

Until next time,
XO
Heidi

What a wonderful afternoon this must have been. We live so far from any bodies of water that I get excited just seeing photos of water!! :)

You are a precious and very pretty lady...loved seeing your mirror shots.

Hello Heidi, your picnic looks divine. The water and the boats are such a beautiful setting.

Your Diva photos are very good. It isn't easy is it? Ha! Shelia makes it look easy but she does say she is a professional. Smile.
Happy Diva day.
Hugs, Jeanne

Hi Heidi,

This is my first time visiting your blog. You're right: it is quite difficult to snap a picture of yourself in a mirror, but it's fun being a BSSer.

Heidi, what a beautiful place to walk and enjoy those beautiful surroundings. Cute photos. I was going to participate, but got too busy. Been in paint clothes and no make up most of this week. Mom and sister are coming Tuesday morning for a belated mother's day brunch. Hope you have a wonderful mother's day.

Nice! So much fun visiting all the blogs. Nice guest bath! My guests have to go to Kwik trip if the line to the powder room is too long as this is a one bath cottage!

I hope you Mother's Day was wonderful!!
I found out something while attempting a photo for
Shelia's blog...and that's not to hold the camera up and out..my hands and arms ended up looking like they belonged to someone else...funny! :)
Lovely mirror, by the way!

What a lovely spot you chose for a picnic! Just beautiful!

I'm glad you joined in!

Love,
Mona
