Blue Sky at Heart and Home

It's time for Outdoor Wednesday!

On a balmy summer evening I watch the twilight sky

blanketed with clouds that bring the promise of a cool, calm night,

and form a heavenly canopy above the redwood forest.

In the distance, I hear the cry of a hawk,

the song of an owl, and a symphony of crickets

as they announce that night is falling

and day is done, gone the sun, from the hills, from the lake, from the skies.

Hope you enjoy these Indian Summer evenings, here in the coastal redwoods.
